Mill Docents Wanted!
Docents are a critical part of the education program at the Willamette Heritage Center. Each year, we welcome over 3,000 school children from all over the state to tour the museum and learn about the Mid-Willamette Valley’s past. Our docents bring history to life.
Mill Docents guide groups of students (and adults) through the historic Thomas Kay Woolen Mill and introduce them to what life was like during the Industrial Revolution and the steps that go into making woolen cloth using raw material and water power.
We are hosting a four week training for folks interested in learning how to become a Mill Docent. We hope you will join us!
Date: Four consecutive mondays beginning January 14, 2019 and ending February 4, 2019 (except for Monday, January 21st – MLK Jr. Day) . Must be available to attend all 3 sessions (or schedule a make up with staff).
Where: Willamette Heritage Center 1313 Mill St SE, Salem, 97301
