Milia married John Richard Campbell 2 July 1883 in Preston, Canada. They were both 24 years old. They were married by Reverend Immanuel Wurster of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. Her husband John worked in one of the woolen mills in Waterloo. Four sons were born to the couple in Canada: Charles Wilbert, Arnold Pearson, John Richard Jr., and Roy Ferguson.

The family immigrated to the United States in 1900. Their first home was in Dallas, Oregon where John and eldest son Charles worked for the woolen mill. Milia’s mother-in-law Susan Campbell came with them. By 1905, part of the family moved to Salem to work at the Thomas Kay Woolen Mill. The oldest boys, Charles and Arnold, moved to Breitenbush in the Santiam Canyon to work as loggers. John and son John Jr. worked at the mill and Milia joined them in 1913. She worked as a burler in the finishing department.

Her husband John left the mill in 1924 for work as a fireman at the Oregon State Hospital. He and Milia moved to 450 S. 14th St where they lived until retirement. Son John Jr. and later Charles would return for brief periods to live with their parents for better economic opportunities. John with the woolen mill and Charles as a mechanic for the C.S. His body was found just off Mill Creek near 13th St. Father John died a few years later at the age of 81. Milia retired from her work at the woolen mill shortly after.

Milia died at the age of 89, on 11 Nov 1950 at the home of her son Roy in Salem. Her obituary stated that she had worked for the Thomas Kay Woolen Mill for more than 30 years. She was buried beside her husband John in Belcrest Memorial Park in Salem.
