By 1905, Milia and her family had moved to Salem where John Sr was a fireman (boiler stoker) at TKWMSon Wilbert may have also worked there as a spinner but by 1910, Wilbert had move to Breitenbush to become a partner in a logging operationJohn R. Sr had become a city fireman and John R. Jr was a spinner at TKWMWithin a year, all Milia’s sons were working and boarding at her home.

By 1920, Milia’s sons were on their own so she decided to work to provide extra income for the householdShe began her career at TKWM as a burler while her son Roy Jr. was an experienced weaver. They would both work at the mill for many more yearsBy 1924, John Sr. had taken a job as a fireman/watchman at the Oregon State HospitalAnd the family moved to 450 S 14th St where John Sr and Milia lived for many years to follow.

Milia was still working at TKWM in 1930 along with John Jr.  John Sr was now a night watchman at a packing house but then the family fell on sad timesJohn Sr claimed to be a simple laborer by 1934 and by the fall of 1935, John Jr, although still working as a weaver, declared bankruptcyThen, on 13 Mar 1937 Milia’s son Charles Wilbert Campbell passed away from heart diseaseHe was survived by children Madge, Wilberta, Donald all of Orange, CA.
