What:  Views on the Fight for Women’s Voting Rights in Oregon – A Panel Presentation, moderated by Dr. Kim Jensen

Cost:  $2 for students; $3 for WHC members and for participating Heritage Extravaganza organization members; $5 for non-members

Join Dr. Kim Jensen and a panel of Western Oregon University honors students as they share a variety of views on Oregon’s Woman Suffrage. Dr. Jensen facilitates the panel of presentations that address some major themes, people, groups and events in the movement for woman suffrage in Oregon. The students’ presentations are based on the work they did for The Century of Action’s website (www.centuryofaction.org), which was developed to celebrate the centennial Oregon women’s right to vote and advances the understanding of women’s citizenship in Oregon’s history.

Heidi Ramp – The Grange and Woman Suffrage in Oregon
Ariel Setniker – Mass Advertising and Popular Culture: Laying the Foundation forthe Win of 1912

Zachary Jones – Uniquely Oregonian: Everybody’s Equal Suffrage League in 1912
Kayla Ward – Actors and Theater: Bringing Performance to the Political Scene in Portland in 1912
