Life Story Helen Fox worked as a weaver at TKWM in 1933-1937. Her husband Glenn also worked at the mill.

Helen Louise Moullet was born 5 May 1915, six miles east of Gervais, OR. Her parents were Alfred and Lilly [Darby] Moullet. She was one of three children born to the family. By 1920, the family had moved to the Pringle area near Salem where her father continued to farm. In August 1922, her father was killed in a logging accident near Valsetz. He was felling a tree when it broke unexpectedly, and a piece of the tree struck him killing him instantly. Helen’s mother remarried to Isaac M. Howe, a contractor.

In 1933, Helen took a job in the weave room at the Thomas Kay Woolen Mill. It was here that she met her husband Glenn E. Fox. They were married on 12 Oct 1935 in Vancouver, WA. It was the first marriage for both of them. By the 1940 census, Helen was 24 years old, and the family lived in Turner, OR. Three children were born to the couple here: Denzell, Glenda, Linda. Glenn worked for the Thomas Kay Woolen Mill.

In 1949 her husband left the woolen mill and went to work in the tire department of the Master Service Center in Salem and the family moved into town 1795 12th St. Helen also took a job as a salesclerk at Montgomery Ward’s department store.

On the 4th of July 1969, husband Glenn died unexpectedly of a heart attack while jogging on the track of South Salem High School. He was buried at Belcrest Memorial Park. Helen continued to work at Montgomery Ward’s until retirement. Her obituary recorded that she was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Marion County Historical Society. She enjoyed volunteering at the Mission Mill Museum and bird watching. Helen died 23 Nov 1995 in Salem and was buried with husband Glenn at Belcrest Memorial Park.
