StoryĀ  Pete Boedigheimer may have worked at TKWM for a short time or possibly part-time in the mid-1930s.Ā

Peter Boedigheimer was born on 18 Feb 1908 into the large family of Ignatius (I J) and Ella Smith Boedigheimer. I J was originally from Minnesota but relocated to Oregon to join many other extended Boedigheimer family members. He was in Sublimity by 1889 in time to provide sawn timbers for the original St Boniface Church which is still in use today. I J married Hellen (Ella) Smith in the church on 9 Oct 1894 and Peteā€™s oldest brother Fred was born 30 Jul 1895. Pete would eventually have 11 siblings.Ā

Pete grew up and was schooled in or near Sublimity. 1928, we see Pete working as a loom fixer along with five of his siblings at the Western Woolen Mill (later known at the Paris WM). The siblings were Carl (loom fixer), Helen (weaver), Leo (dresser), Fred (dresser) and William (filling carrier).Ā Ā

In the mid-1930s, Peteā€™s brother Fred moved to Salem and worked for TKWM. Pete may have commuted to Salem to work with Fred for a short period of employment or doing part time work at TKWM. However, we find no long period during which Pete was employed by TKWM. He spent the rest of his life living and being employed in and around Stayton.Ā

Pete married Jennie Meier on 17 Jul 1934 in Sublimity and they had three children. After failing in a bid to become a Sublimity Town Council member, Pete partnered in logging company in 1948 then spent 20 years at the Frank Lumber Company Mill.Ā

Pete passed away on 11 Dec 2003 and is buried at Saint Boniface Cemetery, Sublimity, OR.Ā
