Francis “Frank” Thomas Meithof was born on 21 Mar 1939 in Salem, Oregon, to John J. and Marie [Blum] Meithof. One of six children, he spent his early years in Brooks, Oregon, where his father worked as a farmer. Following his parents’ divorce, Frank moved with his mother and siblings to Salem, residing at 434 S. Cottage St. He attended St. Joseph Catholic School, Leslie Junior High, and South Salem High School.  

In April 1956, Frank enlisted in the U.S. Navy, beginning his service. After his time in the military, he briefly took a job in the Card Room at the Thomas Kay Woolen Mill. Then worked various jobs, including laboring on hop farms north of Salem.  

On 5 July 1961, Frank married Dolores J. Enoch in Salem, Oregon. He was 22 years old, and she was 25. Throughout their marriage, Frank was in trouble with the law, including multiple charges for impaired driving and driving without a license, leading to periods of incarceration. The couple had one daughter, Julie, born in 1962. Their marriage ended in divorce in 1977.  

On 28 Feb 1979, Frank married Carol Zachary in Reno, Nevada. Both had previously been divorced.  

Frank passed away on 10 April 1999 in Salem, Oregon.
