Helen Elizabeth Page was born 16 Feb 1914 in Rhode Island to parents Chester A. and Mary E. [Ellison] Page. She was one of five children born to the couple. Father Chester worked at Wakefield Woolen Mill in Kingston, RI until 1928 when he moved his family to Oregon to work for the Thomas Kay Woolen Mill. Children Chester Jr., Albert, Harriet and Helen worked alongside their father at the mill. The family lived at 1255 Court St. Their combined income helped the family survive the Great Depression. 

The Page family purchased the Brownsville Woolen Mill in the early 1930s. Father Chester continued to manage TKWM for a few years while his boys moved to the Brownsville Mill. The family would continue to manage it until it ceased operations in 2001. Daughters Harriet and Helen remained at TKWM until they married. 

Helen married John Russell Beckley in the 1940s. They lived and operated a mink farm north of Keizer until John’s death in 1978. Both are buried in the Claggett Cemetery in Keizer, OR.
