John Edward Lindemann was born 4 Jan 1906 in Scio, OR to Frank and Laura Lindemann. He was one of ten children born to the couple. Father Frank was a German emigrant who worked as a woodsman and later in a sawmill. Until the age of 24, John lived with his family and worked as a laborer in a sawmill. In 1926 he found employment at the Thomas Kay Woolen Mill in Salem, thru his brothers-in-law Leo and William Boedigheimer. He would work for the mill thru the 1940s.  

After the move to Salem for work, John met Mildred Lenz in her father’s confectionery store. Mildred’s family had moved to Salem from North Dakota. The couple were married 15 Aug 1931 in Salem, OR. The couple would have two children, Michael and Debra. After his time at TKWM, John would work for Sears Roebuck and then Ollie Boline Enterprises until his retirement in 1976. He was a charter member of the Salem Saddle Club and Oregon Mounted Posse. John died on 27 Jan 1981 in Salem. He is buried at Belcrest Memorial Park with wife Mildred.
