Mary Earl worked as a weaver at TKWM in 1910. Father Edward, sister Esther, and two brothers also worked at the mill.
Mary Earl was born 12 July 1891 in South Dakota to Edward G. and Frances [Quinn] Earl. She was one of six children born to the couple.
The family moved to Salem in 1903. The family rented a home at 695 S. 20th St. Her father went to work at the Thomas Kay Woolen Mill. In 1910 she joined him at the mill. He worked in the Dye House and she in the weaving department. She was 18 years old.
In 1920 according to census records, Mary was still living with her parents, caring for her diabetic mother, and managing her father’s household, she was 27 years old. Following her mother’s death, she married Joseph Rodriguez Machado in 1925 in Sacramento, CA. He was a WW1 veteran. The couple had no children. Her father moved to California to live with them.
The couple lived on L Street in Benecia, Solano, CA until Mary’s death 2 Sep 1950. Mary died 2 Sep 1950 in Solano County, CA. She was buried in the Saint Dominics Catholic Cemetery in Benicia, CA.
