Story  Paul Noack worked for TKWM from 1910 to early 1930, and then again from 1951 – 1957.

Paul Bernard Noack was born in Winchester, TX on 5 Mar 1890 to George Sr and Mary Noack. He was born three years after his parents emigrated to the U.S. from Germany. According to his brother George, Jr., the family moved to Oregon in about 1896.

By 1907, the family was living near Salem when George Sr. passed away at age 77. His wife Mary was only 45 and Paul was about 16. Paul three siblings left at home:  John (17), George Jr (13) and Martha (8). The older boys took work to support their mother, while still young. The 1910 census records that Paul and George worked at TKWM while John was a plasterer.

In 1925, at age 33, Paul married Winnifred M Taylor in Salem. The couple had two daughters; Betty and Beverly. The couple bought a home at 1496 N Commercial and lived there until Paul’s death. Paul left the Woolen Mill in 1930 after twenty years as a spinner. He took a job driving for Greyhound Bus Line and later the Gideon Stolz Beverage Co. In 1951 he returned to TKWM and took work as a carder until his retirement.

He died unexpectedly on 2 Oct 1958 after returning from a fishing trip. He was 68 years old. His wife Winnifred lived on until 1974. Both are buried at City View Cemetery in Salem.
