Story Harry Blanchard worked for TKWM from about 1932 until his WW2 enlistment in 1942.

He was born to George and Olive Blanchard in Waitsburg, Washington on 26 Feb 1915.  Father George was a miller in a flour mill. Harry moved with his family to Salem sometime between 1920 and 1930.  By 1932, at the age of 17, Harry had begun working for the TKWM as a weaver. He only had one year of high school.  He lived with his parents and brother Clarence, until his marriage in 1936.

Harry met his wife Vera Moullet through her sister Helen, a fellow weaver at TKWM.  Vera was a bookkeeper at Doolittle’s Auto Sales and Repair, local auto parts store.  Harry and Vera married 15 Feb 1936 in Vancouver, WA.

By 1940, Vera had picked up work as a stenographer at TKWM and Harry’s WWII draft registration card confirms his work as a manufacturing foreman at the TKWM. It should be noted however, that Doolittle’s is penciled in the margins.

After the war Harry returned to work at Doolittle’s Auto Sales and Repair. Then in Oct 1946, he and his wife opened a variety store in West Salem, a business that only lasted for two years. After that, Harry went into the garbage hauling business with his brother-in-law, Harvey Moullet.

By the early 1980s the couple had retired to Reedsport Oregon. Vera died 9 January 1986 in Reedsport and was buried in Belcrest Memorial Park in Salem, OR. Then on 12 Sep 1992 at the age of 77, Harry passed away in Reedsport, OR.
