Pearl Edna Allport was born 6 Aug 1889 in Galt, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada to Thomas and Aurelia [LaQue] Allport. She was one of eight children born to the couple. The family immigrated to the United States in 1898 and came to Salem, where their father had taken a job at the Thomas Kay Woolen Mill. 

Pearl married Allard John Conger on 24 Aug 1907 in the First Methodist Parsonage. Allard was formerly an employee of the state printing office. Following their marriage the couple moved to Portland where Allard had taken a job with F.W. Balles & Co. The couple would have four children: Lloyd, Mignon, Margaret, and Allard Jr. Later, Allard started his own printing company, Conger Printing Co. and employed family members like nephew Emil Allport. He and Pearl also managed extensive real estate holdings throughout Portland. 

In 1954 Allard J. Conger sold his printing company “Conger Printing Co.” to W.V. King and E.A. Jenson and retired. He died six years later on 29 May 1960 in Portland, OR. Pearl followed on 20 Jun 1969 at the age of 79. Both were buried in Belcrest Memorial Park along with other extended family members.
